HotPatterns ~ Fast and Fabulous HP1167

La Strada ~ The Waterfall T-Shirt

This is my first experience with HotPatterns. I’m excited to share my feelings on the product. Let’s start with packaging. When I got the package in the mail, I gasped! It was huge 8.5×11. Crazy thoughts going through my head, man! I hope the pattern is the right size. I detest altering patterns. After taking a moment and studying the package. I realized the size of the packaging had a lot to do with the folding of it. More folds means more creasing, and more creasing increases the possibility of tearing.

This particular pattern came with one sheet and the instructions are printed on the sheet as well. All you have to do is cut out and save. The quality of the  paper is awesome, nice and thick. For this sort of sewing pattern (not those that are printed on tissue), I never cut but use the Swedish Tracing Paper (click here to order) to transfer the pattern. Yes, I’m impressed with this company so far.

As much as I despise reading instructions, I did. Since we are all different and we learn differently, I appreciate how the instructions are delivered. It’s like Trudy is right there talking to you. I would say the instructions are conversation style. Lastly, the illustration is on point and makes it easy to execute your project.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes it did.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very clear and easy to follow

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The back yoke was my favorite feature, and the hi/lo hem.

Fabric Used: ITY Knit (Joann’s Find Here)
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Conclusion: The thing that stuck out most with this pattern was comfort. It’s a very relaxed design, simple yet stylish. I feel the yoke and hi/lo hemline are pluses for me. This t-shirt balances comfort and style effortlessly with the airiness needed for the hot summer months.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Sewing!
