Butterick B5497 ~Video Pattern Review

Caribbean Living Blouse & Hi /Lo Combo

In January all my wishful hopes for warmer days in this Ice Box (Wisconsin) I call home, seemed pointless. How refreshing it was to take spring vacation to Trinidad. Wanting Caribbean Living for my vacation, I was determined to make pieces of garment that would be effortless, during the hustle and bustle of traveling.

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting at bust, dolman sleeve blouse with gathered upper section and shoulder casings with elastic.

Pattern Sizing:  OOP If you happen to find this pattern, it would be in AA(6-12) or EE (14-20)

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The gathered detail is a nice touch, that complemented the white of  my fabric.

Fabric Used:  Cotton Jersey  (find similar here and here).

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I don’t entertain pain for fashion and appropriate this blouse. The pattern is very comfortable and I like that a lot.

Conclusion:  This is a great pattern because it can be worn comfortably as a daytime or evening piece.
